The Lac La Ronge (All Saints) residential school opened in 1907 on the western shore of Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan. The school was destroyed by fire in January 1920 and did not reopen until February 1922. The new school was poorly constructed, overcrowded and cold during the winter. Parents of students who attended the school were unhappy with the way the school was managed and in 1934 they petitioned for a new principal. On February 2, 1947, the residential school was again destroyed by fire. The school reopened in the city of Prince Albert in September 1948. The name of the residential school changed from All Saints residential school to Prince Albert residential school in July 1953.
